Dark Furs: Dark Furs is a female-fronted independent rock band. Founded in East Los Angeles, a chance connection in 2011 between UK-raised vocalist Suzanne May and LA native Chad Philipps sparked an immediate songwriting partnership. They mix intricate melody lines and commanding vocals with dark and dreamy instrumentals to create their own brand of "Mood Rock." In 2013, the duo headed into the studio to record their self-titled EP with producer Dan Long (Henry Clay People, Local Natives) which BuzzBands.LA described as "a sophisticated reverie" and landed them on multiple Bands to Watch lists. They recently completed the recording of their follow-up EP at Jim Henson Studios with producer Nico Essig, slated for a Spring release. Dark Furs is ready to kick off 2014 with new music, videos, and an international tour.
Town In The City: TOWN IN THE CITY is a folk rock group from Studio City, CA. They blend a Americana roots with a cool California sound that has a unique and timeless quality. With a healthy blend of harmonies and shimmering guitars there is a call back to the iconic Laurel Canyon sound of the '70s.
In early 2012 Pittsburgh natives, Shawn Grindle and George Chammas introduced their songs to drummer Matt Campbell and this is where TOWN IN THE CITY was born. Taking inspiration from the Jack Kerouac novel, "The Town and the City", the band felt this name described the essence of their style and their respective backgrounds.
After doing some DIY recordings in their home studio that made up their debut album, TOWN IN THE CITY teamed up with producer Jaron Luksa for their next endeavor.
Between playing shows around the LA music scene and constantly recording new material, TOWN IN THE CITY is a band based on passion for the imaginative spirit, a modern take on classic ideals, and a living representation of good old fashioned American music.
