Ramshackle : Ramshackle is a Los Angeles based indie/folk band comprised of Daniel Schechter and Emily Osment.
Seasons : On fresh material such as "Light, Lost" and "Of Our Discontent," Seasons crafts airy, spacious guitar rock. With local producer Raymond Richards on the boards (Local Natives), the group's latest EP is full of polished touches. This Highland Park based band plays a tender yet voluminous brand of indie rock, combining winding guitar riffs and Colin Meloy-esque vocals with a veritable forest of carefully arranged flourishes. The synthesizers, keyboards, percussion, and violin never overpower the basic emotional appeal that runs throughout the newest EP instead serving to create a sweetly melancholy atmosphere in which you can easily float away.
Steve Taylor: Steve Taylor is a man of many hats. Cinematic psych rock artist. Keyboardist/guitarist for Rhye, Jackie Greene, and Rogue Wave. Collaborator/improvisor with everyone from Malcolm Mooney of Can to members of the Grateful Dead. Equally comfortable playing and singing a delicate, classic tune, or trailblazing a new sonic galaxy of afrobeat, progressive rock, and dubbed out funk (a style he likes to call Prog Hop), he'll bring a new mix to The Mint every Wednesday. Expect everything from late 60's soul/gospel raveups to astral traveling live drumnbass.
