State to State: Born in 2009 out of the most unlikely of places, the Los Angeles Craigslist classifieds, State to State are all about the music and nothing but the music. After independently recording and releasing an EP in 2010, the band is currently in preproduction for the recording of their debut LP. Their well-tuned engine runs on a myriad of influential fuels that range from Pink Floyd to Portishead, Sigur Rós to Soundgarden, and early U2 to the late Jeff Buckley. “While there might be reminiscences of other sounds, their sound doesn't copy anyone. What really vaults this band ahead of the pack are Shea Stratton's vocals. His range is huge, extending from a rich tenor up to a falsetto that has ease, power and expressiveness.” (Examiner.com) Instrumentally, the band has a very “post-rock” vibe to them, à la Maserati or Explosions In The Sky. The guitar work of Andrew Orvis and Shea Stratton is very atmospheric, dynamic, and melodic and their canvas of sound is solidly driven by the creative and dominant rhythms of drummer Michael Schneider and bassist Cristian Hernandez. State to State maintain the same uncompromising love for creating their music that was once rampant in the 60’s and 70’s, but without ever looking or sounding like they just got back from another magical mystery tour. There are countless bands that exist in the ether, but very few have the passion, energy, precision, and execution that State to State possesses when they play live. Check out their next show and experience it for yourself.

The Futures League: The Futures League formed in March 2012 bringing together Jon Arman (guitar, vocals) Jack Rose (lead guitar) and John Fontana (drums).  Their sound is somewhere between garage, punk, psychedelic and country that feels like its been spun through 2" in tape and shot forward from the early 70's.    Their self-titled debut EP was released on 11/19/12 consisting of 5 songs that take you through the soundscape of The Futures League. At times its funky, at times it twangy, at times its fast and at times its mellow, but its always The Futures League.
